The Bulletin Board

Welcome to the Christ Church-Family Promise Bulletin Board!   Please call the Christ Church office (732-671-2524) or the Family Promise Day Center (732-495-1050) with any questions or for further information.

Next week, September 21, the Outreach Committee will host a "Bakeless Sale" to benefit Family Promise of Monmouth County.  What's a Bakeless Sale?  No baking, no buying, no calories, no cholesterol, help families!  Simply write a check to "Family Promise-MC" or drop some cash into the "Bakeless Sale" envelopes.  Members of the Outreach Committee will be on hand Saturday and Sunday to accept your donation.

Christ Church will next host our brothers and sisters in Christ through Family Promise from September 28 - October 4.

Call or email the church to find out how you may help in this important ministry!  Volunteers, a current guest list for this rotation and updates are posted below for your information.

Furniture Donations

Family Promise's furniture donation program has helped ten families move into fully furnished apartments in the past year! Thank you to everyone who has made this such a tremendous success.

If you have gently used furniture or household items that you would like to donate please contact Nora at the Family Promise daycenter Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. The phone number is 732-495-1050 and her email address is Nora@familypromisemc.org Clothing, bedding and large appliances (washers, refrigerators, etc) cannot be accepted. Because of the cost of hiring the mover there must be a full truck to have a scheduled pickup. You can, however, arrange to drop off your items at the storage unit. Please have the furniture disassembled at the time of donation and be sure that all needed hardware pieces are included.

Volunteers Needed for New Branch of FP

Family Promise is in the process of developing a second network in the southern portion of Monmouth County. Needed are individuals who are interested in helping to get this second network off the ground. Committee members will make phone calls to potential host church decision makers for appointments, participate as part of team to talk up Family Promise at the churches, make follow up phone calls, etc. If you are interested or would like more information please call Tara Maffei at 732-495-1050

  Always Needed

People frequently ask what they can donate to help the guests in Family Promise (IHN). There is an ongoing need for simple hygiene and appearance items, such as gentle body soap, shampoo and conditioner, body lotion, women’s cosmetics, disposable shavers, shaving cream, women’s feminine hygiene products, and also children’s toothpaste, infant and children’s Tylenol or Motrin, teething gel such as Orajel or infant Anbesol, sippy cups with lids, and lunch boxes. Gift cards for Payless Shoes in $15 increments and Target gift cards in small increments are also useful. (Tara Maffei, Family Promise Director, accompanies the guests on shopping excursions) Items donated can be dropped off at the Day Center (Carr Ave. & Kennedy Way, Keansburg) or in the Christ Church office.
