We Welcome You
A Scout is Reverent: Scout Sunday, February 5, 2017
Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts, wear your uniform to church!
The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls before February 8 (Scouting Anniversary Day) as Scout Sunday, which is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. With so many people at Christ Church associated with Scouting (both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts), Christ Church would be blessed if everyone wore their Scout uniform to church that day. Lord Baden-Powell, when asked why made the word “Reverent” the final point of the twelve points of the Scout Law, knew that the last thing a boy heard was that which he was most likely to remember. Scouting is very much a spiritual movement as to be a Scout is to have some sense of God (whatever name you choose) in your life. The character that Scouting builds in a Scout begins with this spiritual foundation.
Save the Dates!
Pancakes with all the "guilty pleasure" trimmings--sausage, butter, syrup, etc-- on this last day before Lent begins.
Dozens of hot, homemade soups to taste, plus the fellowship of your church family. Take home some of your favorites for a donation. Bring friends, all are invited!
Christ Church will host three Godly Play Workshops on three Saturdays: March 25, April 1, and April 8. Please click here for more information and registration links.
Don't miss this neighborhood favorite event by the church and for the church. More details to follow!
Free nursery care is available during the 10 am service for infants and toddlers, six months to three years. "Jimmy's Room" nursery is on the second floor of the Education Wing, in close proximity to the main church sanctuary. Just ask any usher.
