Listening Sessions

On June 30 our Vestry and Rector met with The Rev. Bud Holland to explore how to heal the divisions within the parish and facilitate reconciliation. The meetings will be held on three days:

  • Thursday July 31st
  • Saturday August 2nd
  • Wednesday August 20th
  • There will be four sessions each day: 9-11:00 a.m., 12-2:00 p.m., 3-5 p.m., and 6-8:00 p.m. All parishioners of Christ Church are encouraged to sign up for one of the sessions by

  • calling Chris Ruland at the church office (732-671-2524) or
  • emailing her at christchurchmiddletown@verizon.net or
  • leave a voicemail for Chris on voice mailbox #5 if you call after office hours) or
  • sign up on the sheets provided in the Narthex, Old Church, or Undercroft
  • Each session will be attended by at least one Vestry member, up to eight parishioners and The Rev. Bud Holland. The Rector will not be attending these meetings. We encourage you to attend one of these Listening Sessions, and please, notify the office if you need help with transportation. Please let us know if you are interested in participating, but are unable to attend any of the listed sessions.

    Save the Dates!

  • Sat. Aug. 23, 8:30-11:30 a.m. Monmouth Job Networking hosts "Absolutely Abby" in the Christ Church Undercroft. The event is free and all are welcome.
  • Sun. Oct 26 is New Consecration (Stewardship) Sunday. A guest speaker will deliver a sermon at the 10 a.m. service, followed by a luncheon in the Undercroft. Reservations will take place in early October; mark your calendar now for this enjoyable fellowship event.
  • October 11 - Hold the date!

After prayerful deliberation and discussions, we have decided to reschedule the 2014 Calico Fair to October 2015. We, and all of our Calico Fair chairpersons, remain ever committed to this important community and fundraising event and we all appreciate your ongoing support. BUT, keep holding the date. In lieu of the Fair we are planning a FUN family event for October 11 - not sure if it will be a Halloween party or a picnic or a Fall Festival but we'll figure it out soon. Stay tuned for more details.

    Aslan Lunch Program

Here's an easy summertime outreach opportunity: assemble lunch for children in the Aslan summer camp program for August 6. We'll meet on Aug 5 to put the lunches together. Please contact the church office if you can help assemble the lunches. If you would like to help but are unavailable, monetary donations may be made payable to Christ Church with "Aslan" on the memo line. Thank you!
